A key aspect of  the London & SE BIM Regions BIM Series is engage the learner by encouraging participation both before and after the event itself.

The first event event takes place on 14th October, but before you hear what the speakers think about BIM …

             what is your view? 

Consider your thoughts on what you understand BIM to be and come prepared to challenge the experts.

PRE-EVENT READING MATERIAL
As a starting point, the following resources could be reviewed

  1. BIM Task Group
  2. Richard Saxon, the UK BIM Ambassador’s report Growth Through BIM
  3. Listen to Imagine by Fred Mills of The B1M a two-half minute video on what BIM could be
  4. Another useful resource is BIM+ bimplus.co.uk
  5. And see whether Stephen Hamil’s view is still applicable with the 7 key slides to be included in every BIM presentation

POST-EVENT SCENARIO ACTIVITY
On Wednesday 28th October, a scenario will be posted on this site for participants to consider.  Your views can then be discussed in a twitter storm that will take place later that day between 7-8pm

London BIM Series

BIM is happening whether you like it or not. The BIM Regions are here to support anyone who wants to understand what BIM means and the implications this will have on the entire industry. The London and SE BIM Regions in association with the University of Westminster have designed a series of events develop a learner’s capability to adopt and implement BIM within their organisation and projects.

Seven events are scheduled, one per month from October through to April, and while each event can be attended in isolation, maximum benefit will be derived from signing up to attend all events. Each event incorporates activities geared to developing the learner’s capability and includes additional voluntary pre-event reading material and post event exercises.

Develop confidence and capability to implement BIM within your organisation and projects.

Designed to incorporate the BIM Task Group Learning Outcomes.

Opportunity to enrol on the University of Westminster Postgraduate Certificate in Building Information Management.

Who should attend

The events are geared towards people within any discipline of the Built Environment with no or limited understanding about BIM.

The format for each event will involve a variety of experts with different perspectives of BIM, who will make a brief presentations, filmed by The B1M, and a subsequent Q&A Session.
