Panopto will be releasing a new update on the 19th December 2020. This page will inform you of the new features.
You can now make your videos look even more polished by altering the background for videos recorded in Panopto Capture. You will be able to blur your background or choose a virtual background from a self-uploaded image.
Content creators can now apply tags to their videos from the video settings, the editor or in Panopto Capture after recording new videos. To add a tag, open the Panopto editor in your browser and type the tags you would like to use. Once you have created the tags, students can subscribe to and filter that tagged content within your module. There is a limit of 10 tags per video.
Panopto’s innovative Smart Chapters feature uses Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to automatically generate a table of contents for any video with screen capture. To turn on Smart Chapters, click on the toggle and you will see a list of chapters for your video. If you would like to change the title of a chapter, hover over with your cursor and click on the 3 dots and select edit.
Delete Streams in the Editor
You can now delete or replace video streams from within the video editor. To delete a video stream, make sure you have selected Streams from the left-hand navigation and hover with your cursor over the stream that you would like to delete. Click on the 3 dots and select delete.
Panopto Capture in Embedded Video Selector
From within Blackboard Ultra, you can now directly record and embed new videos using Panopto Capture, all without installing any apps or leaving the browser. To launch Panopto Capture, you need to select Panopto Embed a Video from the content market in Blackboard Ultra.
