Class of 2020 & 2021 Early Careers support

Since the pandemic hit the UK in March 2020, it’s been hard to find much positive news about jobs for students and graduates. Now, however, we’re beginning to hear about more positive signs for the Summer. Unlike in a “normal” recession, the recovery to the jobs market is likely to come suddenly in many sectors, so be prepared to act, know where to look for jobs, and be ready to make some excellent applications!

There are lots of great resources on Engage, so why not start here:

💡 How to search for jobs and experience

💡 Overview of the application processes

💡 CV and applications advice

💡 Types of interview questions

💡 Assessment centres

💡 Psychometric tests

💡 Employment advice for graduates with a disability

💡 Job seeking for international graduates

💡 1:1 advice or guidance appointments

Search for information specific to your course using our “Your Course, What Next?” series:

EngagePlus is also a great resource for industry sector insights, job vacancies and excellent articles on what’s happening with jobs.

Please also be reminded that you can access a newly designed Graduate Jobs and Events mini-site for up to 3 years after graduation. The mini-site is dedicated to supporting all of our recent graduates with their ongoing journey, and from April it will be updated on a regular basis. Start exploring today!

If you’re looking for industry specific guidance or exploring different career pathways, the Ask a Mentor service at the university may be for you – have a read on here.

And why not get connected with us on TwitterFacebook and Instagram. You can also get in touch with us by emailing or using the Ask a Question function on Engage.
