The Career Development Centre has teamed up with Ignite to bring you a unique opportunity to meet high profile professionals in the PR industry.
Ignite is a national not-for-profit and inclusive organisation for public relations professionals, promoting cultural diversity within the industry.
To be eligible for this scheme, you must be an undergraduate or postgraduate student of Public Relations or Business and come from a Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic background.
So… how does it work? You will have a minimum of three meetings with your mentor over the summer in July, August and September. Mentees will be added to the Ignite mailing list in order to attend bi-monthly free events, which present excellent networking and learning opportunities. As part of your commitment, you will also be expected to attend an introduction evening in June and celebration event in October.
There are a limited number of places available and competition is expected to be fierce. Application is by online form only, followed by an interview if successful. If you are then accepted onto the scheme, you will be invited to attend a training session.

(This scheme is being delivered as ‘positive action’ under the Equalities Act (2010) to redress the balance of underrepresentation of culturally diverse professionals in the PR Industry).
