With a range of film screenings, workshops, a smoothie bike, swap shop and bike servicing, we hope you’ll be able to join us. Check out the line-up below.

Throughout the week

MONDAY 10 FEBRUARY

10-2pm Free bike servicing from Dr Bike – outside Marylebone Campus

This is an opportunity for you to have your bike checked over, and a friendly bike mechanic will make most adjustments made on the spot, for free.

4.30pm Free Film screening – Do the Math, Marylebone Campus, Room M210

We are pleased to announce a free screening of Do the Math, a short documentary in which Bill McKibben explores the maths of climate change and gives a possible solution for how to go forwards. Join us to explore the figures and discuss the ideas in the films afterwards.

 

TUESDAY 11 FEBRUARY

Halls Visits from Student Switch Off

Our enthusiastic, environmentally-minded Student Switch Off Ambassadors will be visiting halls explaining how students can save energy and boost recycling by taking part in our Student Switch Off Campaign in their halls of residence.  They’ll be visiting three of our university owned halls on Tuesday

12-2pm – Marylebone Halls of Residence

2.30-3pm – International House Halls of Residence

4-5.30pm – Alexander Flemming Halls of Residence

 

WEDNESDAY 12 FEBRUARY

11-4pm Smoothie Bike and info give away at Westminster’s Wellbeing Day – Cavendish Campus, foyer

Come and find us at Wellbeing day where you can try out our delicious smoothies made using a smoothie bike, find out about what projects and  schemes are lined up at Westminster and how you can get involved.

5.30pm Free screening – Project Wild Thing – Regent Campus Room RS354

Join us for a free screening of this captivating documentary which follows Filmmaker David Bond on his quest to help kids to get outdoors in the face of tough competition from computer games, advertising and central heating.

 

THURSDAY 13FEBRUARY

12-2pm Tour and Workshop at Marylebone Food Growing Space

Meet outside our Maylebone Campus at 12pm for a tour of the growing space and a chance to get involved in making the growing space productive and thriving for the term ahead. If you can’t make the tour, join the workshop any time between 12-2pm.

4.30-5.30pm Student Green Week Bonanza, Cavendish Campus, The Pavilllion

Pre-Trashed Recycling party with a bicycle powered smoothie maker, clothes swap shop and delicious home-made cakes. Organised and hosted by University of Westminster students. Open to all students and staff – Cavendish Campus, The Pavilion

5.30pm Free Film Screening Trashed the Movie – Cavendish Campus, Small Lecture Theatre 

We buy it, we bury it, we burn it and then we ignore it. Does anyone think about what happens to all the trash we produce? We keep making things that do not break down. We have all heard these horrifying facts before, but with Jeremy Irons as our guide, we discover what happens to the billion or so tons of waste that goes unaccounted for each year.

 

FRIDAY 14 FEBRUARY

12-1pm Green Impact workshop – Cavendish Campus Room C2.15

In this workshop exclusive for Green Impact teams and Green Impact Project Assistants, we’ll be enjoying lunch and cake and discussing ‘How to tackle 20 Green Impact actions in a week’ to give teams the chance to get ahead with Green Impact.
