Emma Shoesmith had her documentary screened, while Rebecca Graham pitched her project Pride, Pole & Prejudice to a panel of filmmakers, industry experts and to a live audience.

Creative Skillset teamed up with Sheffield Doc fest this year to bring graduates from its Ticked Courses a day full of talks from industry experts, round table meetings, networking and screenings.

Emma Shoesmith entered her documentary, Level, and it was selected for the screening. Level was also made by recent graduates Jed Welland, Connor Hawkins and Alexandra Dack.

Rebecca Graham entered her documentary, Pride, Pole & Prejudiceand it was selected for the ‘Live Pitch’. Rebecca’s pitch impressed the industry panel and she was announced the winner, winning herself a £300 ticket to attend Sheffield Doc Fest 2016. Pride, Pole & Prejudice was also made by recent graduates Emilie Dubois,  Kamran Draeger and Pongthorn Freeman.

“The opportunity to pitch in front of filmmakers and funders was a great opportunity to demonstrate all that Contemporary Media Practice has equipped me with as well as my own passion and ambition for my project ‘Pride, Pole & Prejudice‘. The feedback was excellent as well as the opportunity to meet industry practitioners. I look forward to all that Sheffield Doc Fest will offer next year,” said Rebecca.
