Westminster School of Media, Arts and Design Film and Television BA graduates (now Film BA) received Nominations, Commendations and Awards for their Graduation Films of 2016 at the Royal Television Society Student Awards (RTS).

Sophie Moore was presented with Production Design award for her team’s short film Singularity and Tom Beale received the Best Sound award for his team’s documentary The Abbey at the ITV studios in London, where they had the opportunity to meet and network with industry professionals.

Sophie Moore said: “It was great to see so many students from our year again and celebrate the achievements we made that night. It was also interesting to be able to see other students’ work which was also of a very high standard.”

Students’ Graduate Films 2016 Lazar and Sacrifice received Nominations in the drama category, Singularity in comedy and entertainment, and Damon’s Funeral in short feature and a Commendation for drama film Look up.

The Royal Television Society Student Television Awards recognise the best audio-visual work created by students at undergraduate and postgraduate level cross the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland.

Entries are accepted from any students attending higher education institutions. Awards are presented in six categories: Animation, Comedy and Entertainment, Drama, Factual, News and Short Feature.
