For one day a few of us got a chance to live the high life and attend London Fashion Weekend at the beautiful Somerset House in central London. The event ran from Thursday, February 21- Sunday, February 24, 2013. Fashion houses typically attend bi-annual fashion week events to promote their Spring and Fall collections in the four main fashion hubs of New York, Paris, Milan and London. These are industry only events that most people never have the opportunity to attend so London Fashion Weekend provides a rare glimpse into the fashion world for anyone with the notion of attending.
Not only did we have the opportunity to watch a full catwalk show of upcoming trends but we also enjoyed complimentary massages, make-up, food, beverages and plenty of photo opportunities. And did I mention the shopping?? Jeans, blouses, dresses, purses, shoes, oh my!!! Up and coming vendors were sprawled throughout the Neoclassical building which dates back to 1776. As you can imagine it was an incredible treat to shop in some of the finest architecture London has to offer. More importantly, it was a great way to spend some time with classmates enjoying a great cultural experience here in London.
