Jeremy Cobbold who studied and graduated from Westminster MBA at 2002 now works at Marks and Spencers as Head of Logistics Retail gave an Alumni Lecture on February 4th giving us an insight into international retailing. Jeremy Cobbold started his lecture by saying “I’m envious of those doing an MBA at Westminster Business School now”
The lecture was held in Regent’s Campus. Jeremy has worked within M&S for close to 20 years across the Retail, Finance and Logistics divisions where he has developed a deep understanding of retail supply chains across both UK and International markets. Prior to working for M&S he worked in the freight forwarding industry.
Describing the supply chain Jeremy mentioned,”A chain is only as good as its weakest link” also defined what is a good business,”The right product at the right place, at the right time and the right price.”
“Innovation has always been in the DNA of M&S” and we hope that it says this way for this great British brand.
Many of us are familiar with Marks and Spencer. But what goes on behind the scenes? This lecture provided an insight into some of the challenges and opportunities retailers face as they seek to expand on an international scale – what to sell, where to sell and how to get the product to the consumer.
