Did you know that studying abroad makes you more marketable when applying for jobs? On 25 November at the Go Abroad Fair, Westminster is launching a new round of international travel awards for British students to promote academic development through international experiences.
The Distant Horizons Awards are international travel awards for our UK undergraduate students who wish to take part in academic or career-related events or activities overseas but who may not have the financial capability to do so. Experience abroad promotes learning beyond traditional undergraduate courses, allowing you to gain perspective on other cultures, travel to exciting destinations, and enhance your career perspectives. Now is the time to go global!
The maximum of each award is £1,500. The deadline for applications is Friday 8 April 2016, and decisions will be made on a rolling basis. Travel must take place before 31 August 2017.
To be eligible, you must be:
- a current University of Westminster student, studying on a full-time undergraduate course
- classified as a home student from the UK
- intending to take part in an academic or career-related event overseas
Please note that the Distant Horizons Award cannot be used for everyday travel (eg Oyster travel cards) or for travel that has already occurred.
ERASMUS students are eligible to apply. However, you must provide supporting documents showing that your ERASMUS grant does not cover the type of academic event referenced in this application.
Employability Resource Competition:
- Are you a creative thinker?
- Would you like a chance to come up with a design concept that will help students prepare for their future?
