The University is making two changes that will affect students taking exams this summer.

  • The first change is to the academic calendar – when exams for referrals and deferrals will be held.

This means exams will start a day earlier (on Thursday 7 July) than previously stated in the academic calendar and the new times include Friday evenings.

  • The second change is to the referral threshold for students who do not pass exams or coursework.

The regulations state that if a student fails a module with an overall module mark of at least 30%, the Subject Board may decide to permit one referral in all or specified parts of the module. However, in respect of modules at Levels 3, 4 and 5, the University is removing this 30% threshold for referral eligibility. You can check which level your modules are using SRS Web if in doubt.
