The Royal Institution of British Architects helps to develop and apply the research-based knowledge of RIBA members, chartered practices and schools of architecture in order to promote links between practice and academia, and to position the RIBA as a trusted research facilitator for architecture and the related built environment professions. The primary research theme for 2014 is ‘Ageing and the built environment’. The primary research theme for 2015 will be ‘Design quality and performance’. This page provides links to videos of speakers at the 2014 symposium, and a series of documents which focus on the relationship between practicing architects and research.
