To celebrate the launch of their new Tourism, Hospitality & Events Social Media sites, publishers Taylor & Frances have assembled a collection of recent articles that explore the relationship between tourism and social media. Whereas travel was previously considered an opportunity to escape the technological world, the rise in mobile devices has meant that tourists are increasingly embracing technology to share their exploits and enhance their travelling experience. In turn, tourism agencies have been quick to utilise this technology in promoting their brand through online marketing and devising ways to encourage users to act as destination ambassadors on their behalf. Access is free until 31 December 2014.
