The Gateway to Research (GtR) website has been developed by the Research Councils UK (RCUK) to enable users to search and analyse information about publicly funded research. This website will be of particular interest to innovative Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), enabling easy access to information about current research projects and outcomes of past projects; it will however also be of interest to other users, such as academic institutions and the general public.

Roadmap on the future research needs of tall buildings

This report aims to identify priority research topics and research gaps in the field of tall buildings. The main objective of the Roadmap is to create a guide for the Council for Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, the International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction, UNESCO and all those involved in tall buildings to assist in the planning of future research and the pursuit of funding, in order to advance the typology to its optimum level. The Roadmap identifies ten important interdisciplinary findings that constitute the research agenda for moving the Tall Building concept forward in terms of the social sustainability and energy performance of tall buildings.

This paper provides an overview of EU-funded research and studies in awareness, information and user rights. The summary embraces both research projects financed under the Sixth and Seventh Framework Programmes (FP6 and FP7) and studies financed by DG MOVE. The publication presents research on raising awareness on mobility and driving behaviour, as well as on job opportunities in the transport sector. Furthermore, it contains projects and studies on passenger information systems and passenger rights.

Box of Broadcasts (BoB) is having an upgrade,  ready for the new launch on 6th January 2014, BoB will be closed from 5pm on 13th December until 23rd December 2013. QUEST stands for Qualitative Expertise at Southampton. It is a group that brings together staff from across the University who have expertise in the development, application and teaching of qualitative methods. On this site you can find out about events and research organized by QUEST and search the QUEST database for people with expertise in particular methods. QUEST runs events that bring qualitative researchers from across the University into dialogue with each other and with qualitative experts from other institutions, as well as collaborative events with other qualitative research groups outside of Southampton. It also makes information about the events and video and audio recordings of presentations available.
