Свобода – Freedom

Director Robyn Watts-Boothby 2013

The second largest country in Europe is Ukraine. It gained Independence from the Soviet Union in 1991 and was host for the Euro 2012 Football Tournament. Since the Independence, the number of children living on the streets has continued to increase with an estimated 100,000 living rough today. This figure cannot be verified, as the government holds no documents on this. Many children become homeless at a very young age and continue to live on the streets through adolescence. ‘Freedom’ enters the world of a some of these street children, the struggles they face and who is out there to help them.
