VIDEO: Students studying on the BA Television Production at the University of Westminster in London finished their final documentary project: ‘The Island of Ruhnu’

The Estonian producer Laura Põldma travelled to Ruhnu last October with four other students. They spent 8 days filming on the Island. The documentary was part funded by the University with the students themselves raising the balance of the budget.

Many of the students studying on the course wanted to join the project but Laura selected a production crew consisting of two British students as director and camera operator, an American student recording sound and a Lithuanian student completing the team as editor. The University provided all the equipment.

Laura commented that “People at the University liked our documentary”

The last words of the documentary are: “When you are in the city all alone then you are not isolated, but here you are completely isolated yet never alone.”
