UCU at Westminster is currently engaged in talks with the senior management. The talks are taking place at the office of, and are being facilitated by the Arbitration, Conciliation and Advisory Service (ACAS). The UCU team is Peter McLoughlin, Helene Pritchard and Derrick Wright, the UCU negotiating secretaries; and Barry Jones, national UCU’s Higher Education regional officer for North East London.
The talks emerge out of the agreement reached between UCU at Westminster and management on 28 June 2010 to end the dispute over redundancies.
In March 2010 HE trade unions (UCU, UNISON, GMB, Unite, and EIS, the Educational Institute of Scotland) submitted a joint union national claim for 2010/11 to employers’ body, the University and College Employers’ Association (UCEA).
