{"id":1824,"date":"2021-08-11T12:54:15","date_gmt":"2021-08-11T11:54:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.westminster.ac.uk\/alumni\/?p=1824"},"modified":"2021-08-11T12:54:15","modified_gmt":"2021-08-11T11:54:15","slug":"being-westminster-anywhere-photography-exhibition-call-for-submissions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.westminster.ac.uk\/alumni\/being-westminster-anywhere-photography-exhibition-call-for-submissions\/","title":{"rendered":"Being Westminster Anywhere photography exhibition \u2013 call for submissions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Our experiences as colleagues, students and graduates of Westminster have varied greatly during the COVID-19 pandemic \u2013 especially in terms of our different environments.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>We would like to capture these experiences and celebrate our new beginnings through your photographs in our Gallery Caf\u00e9 exhibition space within our Regent Street Campus.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Gallery Caf\u00e9 exhibition space<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Gallery Caf\u00e9 is located at our Regent Street Campus, on the\u00a0right-hand\u00a0side of the main entrance.<\/p>\n<p>After a break of a few years, the\u00a0Gallery Caf\u00e9 was relaunched as a working gallery in 2019. Since then, the Arts, Communication and Culture research community organised several exhibitions at the Gallery Caf\u00e9 until the caf\u00e9 was closed due to COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Submit your photographs to the exhibition\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The exhibition, named \u2018Being Westminster Anywhere\u2019, will take place between 20 September \u2013 15 October.<\/p>\n<p>It is open to all colleagues, students and alumni to submit their photographs; this could be a walk through a sunny spot in the park, picking up an old hobby,\u00a0working\u00a0or studying\u00a0in your kitchen \u2013 we would like you to use your imagination. Search for old photos or take new ones, capturing any meaningful experiences you have had since the first lockdown\u00a0or to celebrate the gradual return to life out of restrictions.<\/p>\n<p>Photographs can be colour, black and white, portrait or landscape.<\/p>\n<p>If your submission is chosen, it will be printed in A1 or A2 size and displayed on the wall at the Gallery Caf\u00e9. (Or, depending on the quality and size of your photograph, it may be displayed as a part of a slideshow on the Gallery Caf\u00e9\u00a0screen.)<\/p>\n<p>The deadline for submissions is<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong> 5pm on Friday 27 August<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Submission checklist<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Before submitting, please ensure that your photograph:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Is (preferably) a PDF, .tiff or .jpeg file format and saved at the maximum quality possible<\/li>\n<li>Is at minimum 180\u00a0ppi\/dpi, or the largest size file you have<\/li>\n<li>Has your full name at the start of EACH file\u00a0name e.g. john-smith-YOUR-UNIQUE-FILENAME.pdf<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to submit your photograph<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To submit your photograph to the exhibition, <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/r\/JB2YbUELc3\">please complete this form by <strong>5pm on Friday 27 August.<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Further information<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please contact Dain Robinson at\u00a0<u><a href=\"mailto:d.sonrobinson@westminster.ac.uk\">d.sonrobinson@westminster.ac.uk<\/a><\/u>\u00a0if you have questions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our experiences as colleagues, students and graduates of Westminster have varied greatly during the COVID-19 pandemic \u2013 especially in terms of our different environments.
