Our campuses are full of energy and activity as we embark on our second semester of this academic year. I hope you remember feeling that similar energy when you were studying with us too.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alongside all our educational programmes, delivered through our superb and mainly practice-based physical and digital facilities, our clubs, events, conferences and sports programmes are flourishing, with more than 10,000 active participants from our community. Our Westminster Dragons sports teams across an array of different disciplines are doing so well at our Regent Street campus, Chiswick and in our \u2018Den\u2019 &#8211; home of the Dragons &#8211; new sports facility at Harrow.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our work to support the employment of our students continues to grow and flourish. We are so grateful for the efforts so many of you put into this through your participation as mentors, speakers on our programmes, and most significantly provision of placements, internships and jobs. We would very much like to grow this further, so please wherever you work in the world, and within whatever discipline, do be in touch if you would be able to support the employment of our students \u2013 who, like you, will be excellent to employ, sharing as we do wonderful values, and a way of applying knowledge and talent that helps businesses to thrive.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have so many highlights we could share from 2024, and I have listed a few of them below. I know there will be many more in 2025 and beyond.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Highlights from 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Top 15% for Sustainability<\/strong>: Westminster was recognised in the top 15% of universities worldwide for sustainability efforts, demonstrating its dedication to combating climate change and promoting social causes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Winning Education Facility of the Year<\/strong>: The University\u2019s fitness facilities were crowned Education Facility of the Year at the National Fitness Awards, thanks to their outstanding range of amenities and commitment to promoting health and fitness.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Alumni BAFTA Success<\/strong>: Two alumni, Jack Rooke and David Thompson, won BAFTAs for their exceptional work in comedy writing and documentary editing, respectively, showcasing the talent nurtured at Westminster.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Hosting National Student Pride<\/strong>: For the tenth time, Westminster hosted National Student Pride, a vibrant celebration of LGBTQIA+ culture with performances, panels, and parties that enhanced the queer student experience.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Students\u2019 Union of the Year<\/strong>: The University of Westminster Students\u2019 Union was named Students\u2019 Union of the Year by the National Centre for Diversity, reflecting its commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>You can enjoy more of our achievement and milestones in our&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=f-lx_VkgwHo\">2024 highlights video here<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Our alumni community&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As alumni, you play a crucial role in this ongoing success of our university. Your achievements and contributions serve as an inspiration to our current students and a testament to the quality of education they receive here. We are immensely proud of all that you have accomplished and look forward to celebrating your continued success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I encourage you to stay connected, or reconnect, with the University in 2025 and take advantage of the many opportunities to engage with our community.
