Creating group sets on BlackBoard is easy and straightforward to do. The following guide will show you how to create group sets. These group sets can be used if you wish students to submit a group assignment and participate in discussion boards as a group.<\/p>

On the top row of your module site, select the tab called “Groups”.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

The “Group” window will open, and on the top right hand corner you will be given two ways to create Group Sets.\u00a0<\/p>

\"Create<\/p>

“Import Group Set” will require you to upload a CSV file. You can get this file template “Import Group Set” and select “Download Group Set Template”.\u00a0<\/p>

The “New Group Set” will allow you to create the group sets and group either manually, randomly or students self enrolling. To do this select “New Group Set”. This will open a new window where you can start to create a group set and groups.<\/p>

A new window will open, and from here you can create your group sets and group.\u00a0<\/p>

  1. Enter the name of your group set.<\/span><\/li>
  2. Choose how you wish to create your groups. You can either custom<\/strong> create the groups manually, allow BlackBoard to Randomly Assign<\/strong> your students into groups, or Self-Enrolment<\/strong> to let your students enrol themselves in their respective groups. However, you would need to make the groups visible to the students<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>
  3. If you wish to create the groups manually, click on the plus sign to start to create groups.<\/span><\/li><\/ol>

    Once you have created your groups you will be given the option of how many students are in each group. You can also Unassign<\/strong> all students from groups.\u00a0<\/p>
