Instructional Design:\u00a0Generate Knowledge Checks with AI\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

We expanded AI\u2011assisted authoring to support generating multiple choice Knowledge Checks within Documents. This enhancement allows instructors to create just\u2011in\u2011time formative assessments using AI\u2011generated questions based on the content of their Document and any selected course materials.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

When inserting a Knowledge Check, instructors are now presented with two options:\u00a0<\/span>Enter my question<\/span><\/b>\u00a0or\u00a0<\/span>Auto\u00a0generate question<\/span><\/b>. Selecting\u00a0<\/span>Auto-generate question<\/span><\/b>\u00a0opens the\u00a0<\/span>Auto-Generate Question<\/span><\/b>\u00a0panel, which\u00a0adapts\u00a0the existing\u00a0<\/span>Question<\/span><\/b>\u00a0panel used in tests and question banks.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Communication and Collaboration:\u00a0Enhanced threading experience in Course Messages\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

When users send new messages, the system now attributes the message to an existing conversation. If no conversation exists, the system creates one. Any future messages between those users return to that same conversation.\u00a0The\u00a0option\u00a0to block replies is removed because it conflicts with the simplified threading experience.\u00a0Additionally, the rich text editor (RTE) and\u00a0<\/span>Send<\/span><\/b>\u00a0button now stay onscreen on smaller devices to improve usability.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Add a second participation requirement and due date in Discussions\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Instructors can now add a second due date with participation requirements for Discussions,\u00a0giving\u00a0instructors clearer ways to set expectations for discussion\u00a0activity.\u00a0Students get transparent guidance for discussion expectations and progress indicators for their participation.\u00a0Instructors can\u00a0set\u00a0how many posts and replies that students must complete across two due dates.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

When students open a discussion, they find two clear participation requirements with separate due dates. As they post and reply, progress indicators update in real time.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Students can complete requirements in any order, but contributions after a due date\u00a0won\u2019t\u00a0count toward that requirement. Once all requirements are met, the discussion is marked complete and Progress Tracking updates.<\/span><\/p>

Assignments & Tests:\u00a0Question Title field\u00a0relocated\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

We moved the\u00a0<\/span>Question Title<\/span><\/b>\u00a0field from the beginning of the question authoring workflow to the bottom, underneath the\u00a0<\/span>Question metadata<\/span><\/b>\u00a0field. Moving this field ensures that titles\u00a0remain\u00a0an optional metadata element and reduces cognitive load during question creation.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Partial credit limits removed for Multiple Choice and Multiple Answer<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

We updated the partial credit system for Multiple Choice and Multiple Answer questions to allow instructors to assign credit values without the requirement that all designated values sum to 100%.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The system now allows instructors to enter any partial credit value for each option within a range of \u2013100% to +100%. Validation continues to warn instructors if total values exceed 100%, but it no longer blocks question setup. Instructors may now also enter positive credit values for options that are not marked as the correct answer.\u00a0The\u00a0total partial credit value for correct answers should be at least 100%, and it may exceed 100%. Negative marking continues to\u00a0operate\u00a0when enabled. Instructors can adjust credit values during regrading as well.<\/span><\/p>

Gradebook:\u00a0Anonymous grading by question\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Instructors can now grade anonymously\u00a0\u2018by question\u2019\u00a0in addition to grading anonymously\u00a0\u2018by\u00a0student\u2019.\u00a0When grading anonymous test submissions in Question View, the interface replaces the\u00a0student\u00a0name, avatar, and ID with an anonymous identifier and a blank avatar.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Increased file size limit to 25 MB for assignments and tests<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

We increased the maximum supported SafeAssign file size from 10 MB to 25 MB.
