Are you curious about what the world of work is like in your dream industry? Whether you&#8217;re just starting your undergraduate studies, working towards a postgraduate degree or you\u2019ve recently graduated, our Future Ready Mentoring initiatives are here to guide you towards a brighter future.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have hundreds of mentors from a diverse range of industries, cultures and backgrounds who want to help you. They can equip you with the right mindset, share valuable professional insights, assist with developing your skillset and growing your network, so you can tackle the working world with confidence.\u202fOpen to both students and recent graduates (of the last 3 years), our long and short-term mentoring opportunities\u202fcan take place either virtually or in-person.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Career Mentoring Programme (long-term mentoring)\u202f<\/strong>\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our award-winning <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westminster.ac.uk\/zone29\/students\/get-career-ready\/discovering-your-career-path\/future-ready-mentoring\/long-term-mentoring\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Career Mentoring Programme<\/a> matches participants with industry professionals for a six-month mentoring relationship. We have two intakes for the programme each year <strong>and applications for Cycle 1 are now open!&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To take part, you will need to:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>be a Level 5 (2nd year of an undergraduate degree) or above student\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>be able to commit to a minimum of five mentoring sessions over a six-month period\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>apply though an <a href=\"https:\/\/engage.westminster.ac.uk\/Form.aspx?id=1011714\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">online form on CareerZone<\/a>\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>attend a mentee training session which will take place in mid-October\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Applications for Cycle 1 close on Wednesday 1 October 2025 at midnight. <\/strong>You can <a href=\"https:\/\/engage.westminster.ac.uk\/Form.aspx?id=1011714\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">apply here<\/a> via CareerZone.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201c<\/em><em>Each session helped me feel more confident, better prepared, and less alone in the process. I\u2019m truly grateful for the experience and the connection it created.\u201d<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Parignaben Talati \u2013 MSc Global Public Health with Data Science (<\/em><\/strong><em>Career Mentoring Mentee \u2013 Cycle 1 2024\/25)<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ask\u202fa Mentor Service\u202f(short-term mentoring)<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As an alternative for those who are looking for\u202fshort-term mentoring opportunities, the\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westminster.ac.uk\/zone29\/students\/get-career-ready\/discovering-your-career-path\/future-ready-mentoring\/ask-a-mentor-service\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ask a Mentor Service<\/a>\u202foffers all students from <strong>Level 4 (1<\/strong><strong><sup>st<\/sup><\/strong><strong> year of an undergraduate and above)<\/strong>,\u202fthe chance to have a one-off conversation with one of our mentors.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This one-off mentoring session\u202fcan be used to ask for\u202fcareer advice on a range of topics, for example,\u202fguidance on job\/internship search, application or interview preparation tips, or for asking industry-specific\u202fquestions.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cThe programme has far exceeded all my expectations. Having someone established in the photography industry believe in my abilities has given me the confidence boost I needed. I now feel more assured in my skills and direction.
