Talented and passionate budding lawyers have until February 28th<\/sup> to apply for the chance to be named as the country\u2019s brightest Future Legal Mind.<\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>Future Legal Mind Award<\/span><\/a> is a nationwide competition which is open to law students and trainees and looks to give a boost to the careers of the country\u2019s brightest legal prospects. <\/span><\/p>\n

The competition, which is run by <\/span>National Accident Helpline<\/span><\/a>, is now in its sixth year. Its previous winners have gone on to enjoy success in the legal industry, with several becoming barristers and solicitors.<\/span><\/p>\n

University of Buckingham student Charley-Anne Gordon was named winner of the Future Legal Mind Award 2019. She said: \u201cWinning the competition has given me a boost to finish my degree and take another step towards my career goal of becoming a legal academic.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d encourage anyone who is passionate about pursuing a legal career to enter Future Legal Mind 2020. Writing the competition essay gave me a chance to express my passion for law and the areas which interest me most, and to show my skills and knowledge.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The Future Legal Mind Award is open to current law students \u2013 both undergraduate and postgraduate \u2013 and to legal trainees, including apprentices, who are in the first two years of their law career.<\/span><\/p>\n

The competition winner will receive a prize package including \u00a32,000 and a mentoring session with one of National Accident Helpline\u2019s experienced in-house lawyers.<\/span><\/p>\n

To enter, entrants must write an essay response to the competition question, which can be found at <\/span>www.national-accident-helpline.co.uk\/future-legal-mind<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

Judges will review the essays and choose a shortlist of 10 entrants. Each of these 10 people will then be asked to create a smartphone video explaining why they should be named as the winner. <\/span><\/p>\n

The judges will then review the videos, alongside the submitted essays, to choose their winner.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tom Fitzgerald, Managing Director of National Accident Helpline, said: \u201cEvery year we are more and more impressed by the quality of the entries we receive from the lawyers of tomorrow who are studying or working all over the UK.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are very proud of the achievements of our Future Legal Mind winners to date and we\u2019re looking forward to finding the country\u2019s brightest legal talent of 2020.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Entries for Future Legal Mind 2020 must be submitted by midnight on Friday 28th February.<\/span><\/p>\n
