{"id":9888,"date":"2020-01-16T09:22:35","date_gmt":"2020-01-16T09:22:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.westminster.ac.uk\/careers\/?p=9888"},"modified":"2023-06-29T12:04:41","modified_gmt":"2023-06-29T11:04:41","slug":"future-legal-mind-the-search-is-on-for-2020s-brightest-legal-talent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.westminster.ac.uk\/careers\/future-legal-mind-the-search-is-on-for-2020s-brightest-legal-talent\/","title":{"rendered":"Future Legal Mind &#8211; The search is on for 2020\u2019s brightest legal talent"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">Talented and passionate budding lawyers have until February 28<sup>th<\/sup> to apply for the chance to be named as the country\u2019s brightest Future Legal Mind.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.national-accident-helpline.co.uk\/future-legal-mind\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">Future Legal Mind Award<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\"> is a nationwide competition which is open to law students and trainees and looks to give a boost to the careers of the country\u2019s brightest legal prospects. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">The competition, which is run by <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.national-accident-helpline.co.uk\/\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">National Accident Helpline<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">, is now in its sixth year. Its previous winners have gone on to enjoy success in the legal industry, with several becoming barristers and solicitors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">University of Buckingham student Charley-Anne Gordon was named winner of the Future Legal Mind Award 2019. She said: \u201cWinning the competition has given me a boost to finish my degree and take another step towards my career goal of becoming a legal academic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">\u201cI\u2019d encourage anyone who is passionate about pursuing a legal career to enter Future Legal Mind 2020. Writing the competition essay gave me a chance to express my passion for law and the areas which interest me most, and to show my skills and knowledge.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">The Future Legal Mind Award is open to current law students \u2013 both undergraduate and postgraduate \u2013 and to legal trainees, including apprentices, who are in the first two years of their law career.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">The competition winner will receive a prize package including \u00a32,000 and a mentoring session with one of National Accident Helpline\u2019s experienced in-house lawyers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">To enter, entrants must write an essay response to the competition question, which can be found at <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.national-accident-helpline.co.uk\/future-legal-mind\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">www.national-accident-helpline.co.uk\/future-legal-mind<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">Judges will review the essays and choose a shortlist of 10 entrants.
