With the tremendous success of the Democratic Education Network, we have embraced a fresh and dynamic approach in designing this module. While the module focuses on the Middle East, the teaching and learning approach is hybrid, involving academics from the University of Westminster and Middle Eastern countries, as well as integrating a field trip to Turkey. To reflect the innovation in this module, we have designed the coursework to give students a new approach by engaging them to write, review, and discuss each other\u2019s blogs during the workshops, present either in London or while they are on the field trip, and write an essay that potentially will be presented at DEN's annual conference and published in DEN\u2019s annual book.<\/span><\/p><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

As part of the module, we teach third-year students \u201cPolitics and Development in the Middle East\u201d at the University of Westminster; in collaboration with several universities in Turkey and Thailand, DEN organised a field trip to the beautiful city of Istanbul.\n\n

\nAcademics and students from Westminster, Kasetsart, Istanbul, Kocaeli, and Batman came together to host a dynamic cultural and academic workshop. This gathering aimed to facilitate collaboration and enhance learning experiences among participants hailing from diverse backgrounds. The workshop featured a variety of engaging sessions, including presentations, discussions, and interactive activities, each designed to promote cross-cultural understanding and exchange of ideas. Attendees had the opportunity to share their unique perspectives and experiences, creating a vibrant atmosphere that encouraged dialogue and cooperation. The event not only highlighted the importance of academic collaboration but also celebrated the richness of cultural diversity in a spirit of mutual respect and curiosity.<\/span><\/p><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
