This session introduces you to some of the background concerning research funding and associated financial processes in universities, considers possible ways to help fund your current doctoral research and invites you to think more about various levels of funding and how to cost and manage research-related budgets. The main practical focus is on those aspects of research funding management \u2013 such as costing and managing conference grants and field research trips \u2013 that are most likely to be relevant to doctoral researchers at this stage in their research project while also thinking about possibilities for future research funding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The session also includes an invited talk from the Alternative Funding Guide about alternative sources of research funding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This session will provide an introduction and some practical tips to managing your research data through all stages of the research lifecycle. From drafting a data management plan at the start of your research project or applying for funding, through to publishing, sharing and archiving your research data at the end of your research project, this session will provide an overview to finding and re-using data in your research, working with sensitive data, and where to publish, share and archive data at the end of your research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
