Communicating Compelling Research Stories<\/b><\/div>

In this talk, Joycelyn will share her experiences of the challenges and opportunities of working at the intersection of academia, activism and community organising and between the Global North and Global South. She will introduce her work investigating the role of technology in conservation and the environmental justice concerns associated with AI\u2019s proliferation in the field, and detail her process of making this information accessible both for conservation practitioners outside of academia as well as the general public. As a climate justice creator with over 49k followers on Instagram, she will also highlight and detail the role of social media as a tool for education and activism and break down her process of communicating compelling stories about research in accessible and engaging ways.<\/div>

Joycelyn is an award winning educator and communicator who has been invited to speak on topics such as environmental justice, regenerative design, green technology and climate colonialism by The United Nations Geneva Dialogues, Channel 4, Cheltenham Science Festival, Oxford University and The Design Council, as well as becoming a recent TEDx Alumni. She was the 2022 winner of the Emerging Designer London Design Medal and was most recently featured in British Vogue\u2019s December 2023 \u2018Forces for Change\u2019 Issue.<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
