{"id":909,"date":"2025-07-10T13:54:09","date_gmt":"2025-07-10T12:54:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.westminster.ac.uk\/instituteforhealthyurbanliving\/?p=909"},"modified":"2025-08-27T13:05:49","modified_gmt":"2025-08-27T12:05:49","slug":"ihul-addresses-g77-nations-and-china-at-united-nations-palais-des-nations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.westminster.ac.uk\/instituteforhealthyurbanliving\/ihul-addresses-g77-nations-and-china-at-united-nations-palais-des-nations\/","title":{"rendered":"IHUL addresses G77 Nations and China at United Nations Palais des Nations"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Professor Brendon Noble Represents IHUL and the University of Westminster at G77 and China Expert Meeting on Public Policy for Social Development<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Professor Brendon Noble, Director of the Institute for Healthy Urban Living (IHUL) at the University of Westminster, participated in a four-day high-level workshop on Public Policy for Social Development, convened by the Group of 77 at the United Nations and China in Geneva from 16\u201320 June 2025.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Delivered by UNITAR and the Permanent Mission of Peru, the programme brought together diplomats from over a dozen G77 member states to strengthen key competencies in public policy analysis, formulation and implementation in support of the 2030 Agenda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Professor Noble was invited to speak on the day\u2019s topic: public-private partnerships, global health policy, and regenerative approaches. He delivered a speech on <em>Regenerative Practice and Public Policy<\/em>, urging participants to embrace systemic and innovative approaches to policymaking for sustainable urban development. Professor Noble engaged with diplomats, UN officials, and international experts to explore forward-thinking approaches to social development through the lens of urban wellbeing and sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt was a great pleasure and privilege to address the diplomats of the G77 nations and China on such an important topic,\u201d said Professor Noble. \u201cI thoroughly enjoyed discussions and the high level of engagement in the potential of regenerative practice to stabilise a range of global challenges. This strategic collaboration commits both institutions to joint research initiatives and co-hosted global events focused on urban health, equity, and sustainability.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are delighted to be working with UNITAR in such an important area of endeavour,\u201d said Professor Noble. \u201cWe hold a common interest and passion for improving urban wellbeing, social inclusion, sustainability and health equity across the globe.
