The Transport Research & Innovation Portal (TRIP) provides an overview of research activities at European and national level. The following items have recently been published:

Economic and regional impacts

This Thematic Research Summary (TRS) addresses research dealing with impact assessment of transport policies with respect to regional and economic impacts. In the scope of the TRS are research projects financed under the Sixth and Seventh Framework Programmes (FP6 and FP7), the ESPON programme and studies financed by the European Commission. It tackles research on the evaluation of economic impacts, the evaluation of regional impacts, as well as the development and application of tools to measure regional and economic effects.

Financing, pricing and taxation

This publication provides an overview of EU-funded research and studies in the policy area of financing, pricing and taxation, looking at research projects financed under the Sixth and Seventh Framework Programmes (FP6 and FP7), and studies financed by DG MOVE. The publication looks at important challenges in the transport sector, such as financing transport infrastructure and innovative transport solutions, pricing measures, internalisation of external costs and smart ticketing.

Increasing the sustainability of air transport

Contributing to economic growth and development, and to integration and cohesion in Europe, sustainable air transport is a central part of EU transport policy and research. With ever increasing passenger movements and freight volumes, the challenge is to facilitate sustainable growth while reducing environmental impacts and maintaining high levels of safety and security in the air and on the ground.
