{"id":1108,"date":"2023-04-25T19:56:19","date_gmt":"2023-04-25T19:56:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.westminster.ac.uk\/psj\/?page_id=1108"},"modified":"2026-05-25T08:27:09","modified_gmt":"2026-05-25T08:27:09","slug":"festival-of-decolonial-learning","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blog.westminster.ac.uk\/psj\/festival-of-decolonial-learning\/","title":{"rendered":"The Festival of Decolonial Learning"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In June 2023, The Pedagogies for Social Justice project held its first <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Festival of Decolonial Learning. <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0three-day public event<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was co-created to bring people together to learn about how we build decolonial and anti-racist atmospheres in our learning and teaching spaces. <\/span>Each day featured a series of interactive workshops and keynotes, held by <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">activists, academics, students and community groups from across the UK, and colonially known Australia and Canada.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Festival programme can be viewed <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1JRFpL2-cRxpjHblv2Nl7XBrc1N2-Plgc\/view?usp=drive_link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We commissioned independent artist, <a href=\"https:\/\/raquelcronopia.wordpress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"home noopener\">Raquel Dur\u00e1n<\/a>, to illustrate the conversations, ideas and connections that happened across the three days.
