Pop Up Station Blog
Week ONE Entry: Friday 9th February 2018
Monday 22nd January 2018 – The purpose of today’s lesson was to understand the purpose of an online pop-up station and to start thinking about what types of stations would be appealing to us as a team the most.
Monday 29th January 2018 – During today’s lesson, we all concluded (by vote) that an online gaming pop-up station would be the best to deliver as our final project and designated a role to everyone, making sure that every individual was responsible for something that they enjoy. I was particularly interested in working amongst the web team, as during the course of my work experience I performed many tasks related to this industry, such as social media and building websites.
Monday 5th February 2018 – Today was a day for the web team to move quite quickly with decisions – The platform that we choose to host our site as well as where we choose to build our site also. As WordPress was quite a cheap option James, Daniel and I decided to construct and host the website via WordPress. During this meet up we also decided upon what the logo would have pixelated text as the banner for advertising on the website but the logo would simply be a padlock with 4 coloured buttons symbolising a console controller. The rest of this week will be for me to get familiar with WordPress and start thinking about the design of the website and what each area of the website will need.
