{"id":4737,"date":"2018-04-09T10:29:46","date_gmt":"2018-04-09T10:29:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/westminsterradio.net\/?p=4737"},"modified":"2018-04-09T10:29:46","modified_gmt":"2018-04-09T10:29:46","slug":"how-can-charity-shops-benefit-you-and-your-bank-balance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.westminster.ac.uk\/radio\/how-can-charity-shops-benefit-you-and-your-bank-balance\/","title":{"rendered":"How can Charity Shops Benefit You and Your Bank Balance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Choosing to go to university in London and deciding to move there can be an exciting and nervous experience for any new student. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">However, sometimes the thought of budgeting and \u2018being an full adult\u2019 can be daunting, since the average student in London will spend about \u00a380 &#8211; \u00a3160 on food, around \u00a3700 (depending on which student accommodation you are with) on rent and about \u00a360 on travel per month, leaving the rest of their student loan on other luxuries such as a gym membership, eating out and the big one, clothes. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">With London being one of the <strong>biggest fashion capitals in world,<\/strong> it\u2019s hard not to be creative and experiment especially with the plethora of shops that London has to offer. Although saying that, the many sales and offers that clothes shops present to tempt potential customers in can be a trap for a London student! As before you know it, you have spent more than your budget for the month and you\u2019re then limited on what you can buy whilst on your food shop. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">There is no one that would ever say that a commendable sale, offer, or discount that we as consumers <em>cherish<\/em>, is one hundred percent is a terrible concept. However these sales can be damaging to your bank balance, but don\u2019t sweat! <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you still want to look and be apart of London\u2019s fashion manifestation (especially if you study a fashion course) &#8211; at a reasonable and affordable price, then I have two words for you fashion lovers &#8211; CHARITY SHOPS!<\/span><\/p>\n<h6><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4735\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.westminster.ac.uk\/radio\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/65\/2018\/04\/IMG_0053-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/>Photo by Sara Hebil-Motie<\/h6>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It\u2019s so simple and you\u2019re always destined to find an item of clothing or accessories at a feasible price. If you head to the more \u2018posher\u2019 places in london, such as Chelsea, you can find designer brands from Channel to Vivienne Westwood to Tom Ford that you can add to your collection. \u00a0Regardless of where you go, don\u2019t forget about your <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bhf.org.uk\/about-us\/find-bhf-near-you\/harrow-bhf-shop\"><b><i>local charity shop<\/i><\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> as they might have some incredible finds for you too! One of the best parts about shopping at a charity shop is that not only do you manage to save a fortune from the original retail price but you\u2019re also giving back to a good or local cause and therefore your fabulous styles becomes a bit more than just fashion. From West Hampstead to Shoreditch, you can find some of the best buys that might just make your wardrobe!
