{"id":232,"date":"2019-08-13T10:55:38","date_gmt":"2019-08-13T10:55:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.westminster.ac.uk\/researchoffice\/?p=232"},"modified":"2019-08-13T10:55:38","modified_gmt":"2019-08-13T10:55:38","slug":"call-for-nominations-represent-early-and-mid-career-researchers-on-research-committee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.westminster.ac.uk\/researchoffice\/call-for-nominations-represent-early-and-mid-career-researchers-on-research-committee\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for nominations: represent early and mid-career researchers on Research Committee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of the ways in which members of staff engaged in research can\u00a0actively\u00a0contribute to\u00a0their community\u00a0is by serving on the\u00a0University of Westminster\u00a0Research Committee.<\/p>\n<p>Currently representatives from the Readers and Professors, as well as Doctoral Researcher cohorts have positions on Research Committee.\u00a0We are now seeking a representative to join the Research Committee from the early\/mid-career researcher cohort.<\/p>\n<p>Individuals may self-nominate.\u00a0They must be employed\u00a0on a research-only contract\u00a0(e.g., postdoc or research fellow)\u00a0OR\u00a0be a\u00a0lecturer\/senior lecturer\/principal\u00a0lecturer.\u00a0Nominees\u00a0should\u00a0consider themselves to be research active\u00a0with a view\u00a0to further developing\u00a0their research career.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants\u00a0must\u00a0have\u00a0an interest in how research is managed\u00a0and supported\u00a0at Westminster,\u00a0along with the ability to\u00a0represent\u00a0their peers\u00a0across the institution, keeping them\u00a0informed of new initiatives and developments.<\/p>\n<p><b>What we need from you:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Availability\u00a0to attend Research Committee meeting\u00a0four times per year<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to provide Research Committee with verbal or written updates from your research cohort<\/li>\n<li>Commitment to undertake support for the Researcher Network Steering Group and contribute to\u00a0these\u00a0meetings four times per year<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These representatives play a primary role in ensuring that the views of researchers are heard and fed into strategic and operational plans.
