{"id":993,"date":"2021-01-27T11:37:52","date_gmt":"2021-01-27T11:37:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.westminster.ac.uk\/researchoffice\/?p=993"},"modified":"2026-01-09T12:47:11","modified_gmt":"2026-01-09T12:47:11","slug":"publish-open-access-with-cambridge-university-press","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.westminster.ac.uk\/researchoffice\/publish-open-access-with-cambridge-university-press\/","title":{"rendered":"Publish Open Access with Cambridge University Press"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>UPDATED: JANUARY 2026<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Authors affiliated with the University of Westminster may publish their research articles, review articles and rapid communications Open Access (OA) at no further charge to the author in Cambridge University Press gold (open) and hybrid journals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To be eligible, articles must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be original research \u2013 eligible article types are research articles, review articles and rapid communications (RRR), plus brief report and case reports article types, which are often linked to research articles &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cambridge.org\/core\/services\/open-access-policies\/read-and-publish-agreements\/article-type-definitions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">click here for definitions<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You must be the corresponding author who is affiliated with the University of Westminster at the point of acceptance&nbsp;&#8211;&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cambridge.org\/correspondingauthordefinition\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">click here for corresponding author definition<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be accepted for publication in a Cambridge University Press journal as listed here &#8211;&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cambridge.org\/core\/services\/open-access-policies\/waivers-discounts\">click here for a list of&nbsp;journals covered by the agreement<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This agreement is effective until the end of December 2029.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you are no longer affiliated with either Westminster, or another eligible institution, at the point of acceptance of your paper, you do not qualify.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You do not need to contact us to gain permission.&nbsp; Just follow the instructions and see your article fully open with Cambridge University Press.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&nbsp;A hybrid open-access journal is a subscription&nbsp;journal in which some of the articles are open access.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Further information:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other publishers with similar agreements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><b>American Psychological Association (APA)<\/b>:&nbsp;We have a similar agreement for APA journals.&nbsp; Please see the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.westminster.ac.uk\/researchoffice\/publish-open-access-in-the-american-psychological-association-apa-journals\/\">APA post<\/a>&nbsp;for more detail.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Association for Computing Machinery (ACM): <\/strong>We have an agreement covering journal articles and conference papers published by the ACM.
