£10,000 cash to catch veterans’ attackers

A Reward of £10,000 has been offered for any information on the attackers of WWII Veteran.

Lord Ashcroft, chair of charity Crimestoppers has offered the incentive for any information that could lead to the arrest and conviction of Peter Gouldstone’s attackers.  The Sun newspaper has announced it will match the reward.

Peter Gouldstone, 98, was attacked and found with head injuries in his home in Enfield.  Mr Gouldstone worked the phone lines in Italy as a former telephone engineer in World War II.

Police told the BBC that there was clear evidence of a disturbance at Gouldstone’s property and a number of his possessions had been taken during the attack, including a 26-inch Panasonic television.

Gouldstone is still being treated in hospital after the attack and remains in a critical condition.
