How much is that dog food in the window?

It is, well, free. As Christmas draws silently upon us, more and more of us are adopting the Christmas spirit whether it be through buying presents, cooking someone a hot meal or donating to food banks. But what have these three kind deeds all got in common?

They all help people. Have we thought about our four legged friends however? Lisa Parratt has. She may not be a name we all know but she is the founder and creator of one of the first Pet food banks set up in Market Harborough this year.

Talking to the BBC she said “With there being a need for human food banks, there is possibly a need for animal food banks.” Rightly so, when you think of all the homeless people with only a canine friend for company. The idea of their pet being taken away is heart-crushing.

She currently caters for cats and dogs and has been overwhelmed by the huge amount of Donations received and huge praise from the RSPCA who say that this could save pets from being abandoned due to the owners inability to afford pet food.

It seems that not everyone is in favour of helping out peoples’ pets:

Guess you can’t please everyone.
