Love trains? Love trainers? Take a look at the new Adidas x TfL collection

Adidas Originals and Transport for London have unveiled a new footwear collaboration to commemorate 15 years of the Oyster card – and they’re basically free.

Adidas and TfL are kicking off their partnership this weekend with three limited-edition shoes inspired by the anniversary of Oyster.

The ‘Oyster Club pack’ consists of three iconic adidas silhouettes redesigned to convey a unique story from TfL’s 18 year history: Temper Run, Continental 80 and ZX 500RM.

The trainers are £80 a pair, and come packaged with an Oyster card topped up with £80 of credit, making the shoes pretty much free if you can get your hands on one of the 1500 available pairs.

Each pair is presented in bespoke Adidas packaging inspired by vintage underground posters honouring the heritage of the London Underground, alongside a premium leather Oyster card holder.

This isn’t the first foray into fashion for TfL, who previously released a line of trainers with Nike in 2016 centred around 100 years of the London Underground’s iconic roundel logo and typeface.

Graeme Craig, Director of Commercial Development at TfL said: “The Tube, its roundel and the Oyster card are all iconic symbols of London and this partnership shows how two world-renowned brands can work together to produce something truly original. Collaborations like this help provide vital funds that we invest in modernising the transport network for the benefit of all of our customers.”

The ‘Oyster Club pack’ will be released at the Adidas stores in Soho and Spitalfields this Saturday, October 27.
