Introducing Islington’s rising star – Connor ‘Dollar’ Daly

Islington’s Connor ‘Dollar’ Daly is hoping to use the bright lights of Vegas to pave the way for a team GB call up in December.

Nineteen year old Connor Daly has been making a name for himself outside of North London after competing in multiple fights abroad, including a fight in Las Vegas were he trained at the famous Mayweather Boxing Club.

With 55 amateur fights already under his belt, the six time London Champion is looking to maintain his momentum for this years amateur season after competing on the 27th of September at the Celtic box cup in Ireland. Following his busy schedule, the Harrow born boxer has got his sights set on the National Amateur Boxing Championship in late November which could lead to an automatic call up to Team GB.

Club manager Reggie Hagland stated that,

“Connor is definitely one of the hardest working boxers at the club, there is no doubt that his hard work will pay off and he will be on the podium for team GB very soon.”

Reggie has been busy preparing his boxers for the upcoming amateur season to ensure the club carries on with its honourable reputation of producing homegrown national champions across all weight divisions. The North London club already has a rich 35 year history, however Reggie is hoping his current batch of boxers will take it to the next level stating,

“we want to make a name for ourselves in the boxing community, Islington already has a solid reputation in terms of UK boxing but we want to take that further. We want to be the best in Europe, and in time to come hopefully we will be up there on the global stage.”

While Connor has been rapidly racing his way to the top of the rankings he has developed a love for leopard print. The half Irish boxer can often been seen entering the ring sporting fur gowns along with a matching print on his shorts.

His manager Reggie explained how,

“he’s one of the most charismatic people we have here at the club, a couple years ago he wasn’t as confident but thats what boxing does for you.”

While Reggie also went on to confirmed,

“his boxing is better than his fashion sense.”
