2022 was a year filled with huge promises by world leaders, devastating floods, wildfires and soup thrown at priceless paintings.
We’ve compiled a roundup of the biggest climate change news of the year.
Be warned, there may not have been a huge amount of positive news related to the state of the planet, but most countries are making huge strides towards meeting their climate targets.
Awareness of climate change and its effects are higher than ever. At COP27 in November, it was agreed that a loss and damage fund will help less developed countries to better prepare and cope with the devastating consequences of climate change. This was monumental, and if it is carried out, will save the lives of millions.
A lot of people, with the power to rewrite the future of the earth, have good intentions. Unfortunately though, most are still following the money over listening to the science.
But don’t worry too much- maybe 2023 will be the year we save the earth and all life on it, from a very bleak future.
