The government have established the new tier systems for England once the Lockdown ends December 2nd.

In the new information published this morning, the government website details which areas can be expected to be in each tier, with only three to be categorised as tier 1 when the lockdown ends.

Key areas such as London, Liverpool, Essex and York will enter into tier 2, while Birmingham and Manchester will be categorised as tier 3 once the lockdown ends.

You can find out your local area’s tier here.

Areas have been placed in their respective tiers based on five key factors:

  • Covid-19 rates in all ages
  • Covid-19 rates in over 60s
  • The rates at which cases are either falling or rising
  • The number of positive cases in relation to the number of tests taken
  • The pressure on the NHS

What are the new tier system restrictions?
