The Eurovision Grand Final 2022 will be broadcast live from Turin, Italy, on Saturday 14 May. Ukraine’s entry, ‘Stefania’ performed by the Kalush Orchestra, is tipped to win this year’s contest.
The Ukrainian Eurovision entry was given special permission from President Volodymyr Zelensky to leave the army for the duration of the contest, with plans to return to fight after the grand final.
We spoke to Liliia Tenchurina, a Ukrainian student studying in London at University of Westminster, about her thoughts on the Ukrainian Eurovision entry and how the conflict in her home country has affected her.
