{"id":15051,"date":"2017-10-25T13:14:09","date_gmt":"2017-10-25T12:14:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thevoiceoflondon.co.uk\/?p=15051"},"modified":"2017-10-25T13:14:09","modified_gmt":"2017-10-25T12:14:09","slug":"gemma-collins-was-given-warning-from-bbc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.westminster.ac.uk\/thevoiceoflondon\/gemma-collins-was-given-warning-from-bbc\/","title":{"rendered":"Gemma Collins was given warning from BBC"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5>Words: Haonan Yuan | Subbing: Yujia Yang<\/h5>\n<h3>BBC claims Gemma Collins was warned about the trap door on stage with a \u201cfull briefing\u201d before.<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thevoiceoflondon.co.uk\/gemma-collins-fell-off-the-stage-at-the-r1-teen-awards\/\">The 36-year-old TV star dramatically fell through a trap door in the middle of the stage at the Radio 1 Teen Awards at the SSE Arena, Wembley.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thevoiceoflondon.co.uk\/gemma-collins-plans-to-sue-after-fall-at-radio-1-teen-awards\/\">Gemma previously stated she was going to sue BBC<\/a> because she \u201ccould have died or at least been disabled at the end of it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She claimed that she \u201cdidn\u2019t even know\u201d about the hazard. However, it has now been claimed by BBC insiders that she was aware of the hole.<\/p>\n<p>In response to Gemma Collins\u2019s statement, the BBC told <em>MailOnline<\/em>: &#8220;The BBC takes the health and safety of everyone involved very seriously and we are awaiting a full report from Remedy &#8211; the production company who made the show &#8211; about the incident. But they have told us that Gemma did receive a full briefing before going on stage.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Gemma Collins said she has already got to consult a lawyer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt&#8217;s very important this gets sorted out because really you know what it is &#8211; it&#8217;s negligence.\u201d She said to <em>The Sun<\/em>, \u201cDo you know what I find shocking? The BBC hasn&#8217;t sent any flowers. Nothing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But the public seems not to buy it.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Gemma Collins suing the BBC is a bit of an overreaction.
