{"id":16097,"date":"2017-10-30T18:11:55","date_gmt":"2017-10-30T18:11:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thevoiceoflondon.co.uk\/?p=16097"},"modified":"2017-10-30T18:11:55","modified_gmt":"2017-10-30T18:11:55","slug":"troy-deeney-handed-three-match-ban","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.westminster.ac.uk\/thevoiceoflondon\/troy-deeney-handed-three-match-ban\/","title":{"rendered":"Troy Deeney handed three match ban"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Watford captain Troy Deeney has been given a three match ban by The FA.<\/h3>\n<p>The ban has been awarded following an incident with Joe Allen deep into stoppage time in Saturday&#8217;s 1-0 defeat against Stoke at Vicarage Road.<\/p>\n<p>The FA panel unanimously agreed that the Watford striker warranted a charge and Deeney, 29, now has until 6pm on Tuesday to respond.<\/p>\n<p>It comes at the end of a month where Deeney has seen more than his fair share of media spotlight, following his equalising penalty against Arsenal, and his comments including that the Gunners &#8220;lack cojones&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Should Deeney choose not to appeal, he will be unavailable for The Hornets&#8217; trips to Everton and Newcastle, as well as a clash with West Ham at Vicarage Road.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Words: <\/strong>\u00c9tienne Fermie<strong> | Subbing: <\/strong>Kieran Soutter<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Watford captain Troy Deeney has been given a three match ban by The FA.
