Yes we have pride marches and we have come a long way, but it still shows that in places we thought we were safe &#8211; such as London &#8211; we just aren&#8217;t. As someone who goes out in makeup and high heels, I put myself in even more of a risk. It&#8217;s does scare me but it won&#8217;t stop me.\u201d<\/strong><\/h4>\n<div id=\"attachment_16696\" style=\"width: 360px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-16696\" class=\" wp-image-16696\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.westminster.ac.uk\/thevoiceoflondon\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/64\/2017\/11\/23163719_10213878400372616_897325963_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"395\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-16696\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Credit: Lewis King.<br \/>Lewis marched in London&#8217;s pride event and is a keen LGBT+ activist<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Ricardo Pereira, 24, a social worker who immigrated to London from Portugal told The Voice of London:<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>\u201cI came to london with a dream of being myself and feel safe.
