The topic surrounding penis size has been a hushed-up subject, with the conversation often being reserved as locker room banter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">From the moment a boy is born it<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2019<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">s drilled into him that size matters. And not just the size of his penis: it<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2019<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">s also the size of his muscles and the size of his wallet.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201d<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Chris Hemmings, the author of Be a Man, told <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/commentisfree\/2018\/jul\/06\/penis-size-mental-health-issue-self-esteem\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Guardian<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Worrying about penis size isn&#8217;t a new thing either. A survey by <a href=\"https:\/\/yougov.co.uk\/topics\/lifestyle\/articles-reports\/2015\/10\/07\/young-men-worried-penis\">YouGov<\/a> back in 2014, revealed that 42% of males, aged between 18-24, would like their penis to be larger.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The solution to the size problem is a quick non-surgical procedure in the form of a filler. With prices starting at <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a31,950<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, men can have their penises injected with hyaluronic acid <em>(the same substance used in lip fillers.)\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_29128\" style=\"width: 742px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-29128\" class=\"wp-image-29128 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.westminster.ac.uk\/thevoiceoflondon\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/64\/2018\/11\/Screenshot-2018-12-10-at-17.34.36-732x1024.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"732\" height=\"1024\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-29128\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Infographic: Ruby Naldrett created using Piktochart.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dr Gary Horn, who works as a surgeon on London<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2019<\/span>s Harley Street, has been specialising in penis augmentation procedures at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.androfill.com\/\">Androfill Clinic<\/a> since 2012 and is one of the capitals<span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> most celebrated genital surgeons. Horn<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2019<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">s technique is to increase the girth of the penis, rather than the length, which is an alternative to going under the knife, using fillers to alter the appearance of the penis instead.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/programmes\/p03w1m5t\">behind-the-scenes documentary<\/a> based in his clinic, he said<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0\u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">We process it and then inject it on the top and the side &#8211; never underneath as that of where we have nerve endings. That will increase the girth by an inch and a half. A lot of men think that length is important, I think it&#8217;s about the girth.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The fillers are gaining popularity, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/health-45735061\">Androfill clinic telling The Victoria Derbyshire programme<\/a> that between them and The Moorgate clinic (another genital specialist clinic), they have around 700 enquiries for the injections each month &#8211; which is a staggering rise in comparison to three years ago when they had fewer than 10.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhs.uk\/live-well\/sexual-health\/penis-enlargement\/\">NHS sexual medicine consultant Kevan Wylie<\/a> has a warning about penis surgeries:\u00a0&#8220;The problem with injecting fat is that over time, the body will re-absorb it, which can result in a return to the penis&#8217; original size.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He also has advice, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhs.uk\/live-well\/sexual-health\/penis-enlargement\/\">on the official NHS site<\/a>, for men who are considering going under the needle:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Many men who worry about the size of their penis generally have overall body image issues,&#8221; he says.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;What happens is that they tend to focus their poor body image on their penis. Often, counselling can make a real difference to the patient by building self-esteem, correcting distorted views\u00a0about body image and learning more about what makes people attractive.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Whether you fancy having your penis<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2019 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">girth enlarged by a few inches or you<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2019<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">re just intrigued to see what it<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2019<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">s all about.
