Arsenal will be looking to prove they can beat the ‘big teams’ having lost to Chelsea and Manchester City but winning 11 of the 12 games they’ve played since. The Gunners sit four points behind Liverpool in fourth place.

The game kicks off at 17:30 and will be live on BT Sport 1

Head to head

Since taking charge of Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp hasn’t lost against Arsenal. The German has picked up 11 points from a possible 15, scoring 17 goals in those five games.

Unai Emery was in charge of Sevilla when the Spanish side beat Klopp’s Liverpool 3-1 in the 2016 Europa League final – the only meeting between the two managers.

Team news

Liverpool will be without Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita. Hector Bellerin was forced off last weekend with a muscle problem. Sead Kolasinac and Nacho Monreal will be assessed with the pair nearing returns from injury. Matteo Guendouzi is suspended.

Dugout talk

Klopp: “They score a lot of goals and they are really good offensively so it is up to us. We have to see how this game will develop as they are two very offensively orientated teams.”

“We have to make sure that they don’t score but it will be a big challenge because they have all the different tools to do so. They are creative, have rhythm they demand the ball in midfield, they win balls high up the pitch. They have the speed to punish pretty much every little mistake you make.”

Emery: “We’re excited for tomorrow but it’s a difficult game. Each match is a very important match. The most important is tomorrow. It’s a very big test because it’s against Liverpool.”

“We want to write a new history.
