{"id":25336,"date":"2018-11-10T16:37:53","date_gmt":"2018-11-10T16:37:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thevoiceoflondon.co.uk\/?p=25336"},"modified":"2018-11-10T16:37:53","modified_gmt":"2018-11-10T16:37:53","slug":"lil-peeps-come-over-when-youre-sober-part-ii-is-here","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.westminster.ac.uk\/thevoiceoflondon\/lil-peeps-come-over-when-youre-sober-part-ii-is-here\/","title":{"rendered":"Lil Peep&#8217;s Come Over When You&#8217;re Sober Part II is here"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Lil Peep\u2019s first posthumous album <i>Come Over When You\u2019re Sober Part II<\/i><\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong> has released today.<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The late rapper who infused elements of emo rap in his unique twist of the genre passed away on November 15th 2017 from a drug overdose.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">His first studio album\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Come Over When You\u2019re Sober Part I <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">became an instant success <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">entering the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Billboard 200 <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">at 168 and sold 16,000 album-equivalent units the following week of its release. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The follow-up album has gained even more traction from listeners with memorable singles such as <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Falling Down featuring XXXTentacion<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> which recently became gold certified by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) selling over 500,000 units. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">With a track list of eleven singles, there is no doubt that Lil Peep\u2019s legacy remains prominent within the industry and his avid fan base who still support his music even past his death.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Voice of London team spoke to Hussien Boon, a principal lecturer at the University of Westminster teaching\u00a0performance, guitar, music technology, performance technology, songwriting, production and contextual studies.
