BBC Radio 4 Presenter, Charles Carroll, certainly thinks it could happen in the future. He says: &#8220;Artificial Intelligence could save a great deal of money&#8221;.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When China\u2019s state-run news agency, <i>Xinhua,<\/i>\u00a0introduced their newest addition to the newsroom &#8211; two Artificial Intelligence news anchors, people were surprised. In a robotic voice, he began: \u201cHello, you are watching English news programme, I am AI news anchor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The second is a Chinese speaking anchor who introduced himself in the same way.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Artificial Intelligence (AI) is defined as the development of computer systems able to perform tasks normally requiring human intelligence.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">World&#8217;s first <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/AI?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#AI<\/a> news anchor debuts, jointly developed by Xinhua and Chinese search engine company <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/34tyZ4nwrg\">https:\/\/t.co\/34tyZ4nwrg<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/2omcc5K9rB\">https:\/\/t.co\/2omcc5K9rB<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/qXn5Z3ZkxL\">pic.twitter.com\/qXn5Z3ZkxL<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 China Xinhua News (@XHNews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/XHNews\/status\/1060508494938263554?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">8 November 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The AI presenters were created through a collaboration with Chinese search engine, Sogou.
