They don\u2019t care,\u201d he admitted. \u201cI think the fact that she cares enough to worry about some little band &#8211; more power to her.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Oasis, Primal Screams, My Bloody Valentine, and The Jesus and Mary Chain are just a few of the bands signed with Creation Records during the 1990s. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">McGee split the profit 50-50 with bands signed under the label.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">However, he recognizes the role streaming services play in the modern music landscape as Spotify has \u201cnever been a space as a music industry before. It\u2019s all about fan power.\u201d \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cThe NME and the music I\u2019m involved in use to make or break bands. Now what someone says about a band in the media &#8211; nobody cares.\u201d \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Although Swift has backlashed against streaming services, McGee is for them as people have access to a collection of music for a small fee. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Last week, Taylor Swift announced she\u2019s signed a new deal with <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Universal Music Group. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cAs part of my new contract with Universal Music Group, I asked that any sale of their Spotify shares result in a distribution of money to their artist, non-recoupable,\u201d the singer shared with her Instagram followers. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This means that artists will still receive royalties from streaming even if they are in-debt to record labels.
