{"id":27467,"date":"2018-11-30T13:20:02","date_gmt":"2018-11-30T13:20:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thevoiceoflondon.co.uk\/?p=27467"},"modified":"2018-11-30T13:20:02","modified_gmt":"2018-11-30T13:20:02","slug":"animation-for-all-ages-at-the-barbican-this-weekend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.westminster.ac.uk\/thevoiceoflondon\/animation-for-all-ages-at-the-barbican-this-weekend\/","title":{"rendered":"Animation for all ages at the Barbican this weekend"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>This weekend brings the London International Animation Festival, packed with events looking at animation in film for all ages. <\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">There will be a cinema screening at the Barbican Centre, followed by a Q&amp;A with animators Will Anderson and Ainslie Henderson, who will be the opening event tonight at 6:30pm. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Anderson and Henderson have won <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.liaf.org.uk\/2018\/10\/liaf-2018-opening-night-gala-qa-with-will-anderson-ainslie-henderson-the-playful-worlds-of-scotlands-most-dynamic-animated-duo-15\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">two BAFTAs<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, two Mclaren Awards, a British Academy Award and almost 50 other awards at festivals around the world. Tonight <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BarbicanCentre?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@barbicancentre<\/a>. Here&#39;s a wee GIF &#8211; BAFTA nominated &#39;Have Heart&#39; (Will Anderson). The <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Amazing Animations <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">screening will take place this Saturday at 10am and will show 14 short films. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Events for the 10-day festival include screenings, Q&amp;A\u2019s with filmmakers, retrospectives and workshops, among other things. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Wolf House<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> feature will show at 5pm tomorrow afternoon adopting a disturbing spin on existing children\u2019s folklore and fairy tales. It takes inspiration from <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Three Little Pigs<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Little Red Riding Hood. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The stop-motion animation film is set in the valley of the Andes in a rural colony in Germany.
