The event raised over \u00a3130,000 for local and international charities.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Runners came around 11 am for registration and the entertainment scheduled. \u00a0They were <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">entertained by <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">DJs from Horse Meat Disco and drag girl band DENIM. Participants had an option to run five K (two laps around the park) or 10K (five laps). I<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">ndia Turner-Lees, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Head of UK-wide Fundraising at Terrence Higgins Trust, told Voice of London: <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cThis is our third time here at the Red Run. So it\u2019s really nice chance to work with all of the other HIV charities across the UK and further across the field so we can come together for this day.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, Oxygen-Sans, Ubuntu, Cantarell, 'Helvetica Neue', sans-serif\">I think there&#8217;s been a lot more awareness. We&#8217;re kinda getting to the point where our message around this year is zero HIV, zero HIV\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, Oxygen-Sans, Ubuntu, Cantarell, 'Helvetica Neue', sans-serif\">transmission and zero stigma. I think people are really starting to get that message now.&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"cp_widget_46be3309-3f6e-418e-a5cc-488709c5ceb6\">\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Luke, one of the runners for the Terrence Higgins Trust, told Voice of London he lost his mother to AIDS and decided to run in her honour.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Darrell, another participant, ran because his co-workers forced him to do the Red Run. It was his first time doing any races but he said to Voice of London: \u201cI\u2019m glad I did it in the end.
